Key Concepts
Overview
Tourpaq has its own terminology. This page explains the most important terms you'll encounter across the system β in plain language.

Core concepts
π’ Brand
A Brand is a distinct sales identity or tour operator label within your organisation. All products, bookings, and pricing are tied to a Brand. Many organisations run multiple Brands (e.g. different market labels or sub-companies).
π Booking
A Booking is a confirmed reservation made for one or more passengers. It contains transport, accommodation, extras, passenger details, and payment information. Bookings can be created manually by agents or automatically via the web booking engine.
π₯ Pax
Pax is short for passengers. You'll see this term throughout the system β in reports, dashboards, and price lists β to refer to the number of travellers in a booking.
βοΈ Transport
A Transport is any form of travel included in a package β typically a flight, but also buses or coaches. Transports have departure gateways, destinations, dates, capacities, and associated prices.
π¬ Gateway
A Gateway is a departure or arrival airport or point. Departure Gateways are where passengers travel from; Arrival Gateways are where they land. Gateways are configured under Setup.
π¨ Hotel
Hotels in Tourpaq represent accommodation options. Each hotel has room types, board types, contracts, and availability (allotment). Hotels are linked to destinations and resorts.
π½οΈ Board Type
Board Type defines the meal plan included in an accommodation. Common values: RO (Room Only), BB (Bed & Breakfast), HB (Half Board), FB (Full Board), AI (All Inclusive).
π² Price List
A Price List defines what customers are charged for a specific transport + hotel combination during a given period. Price lists are the heart of Tourpaq's pricing engine β without a valid price list, a package won't appear in search results.
π Allotment
Allotment refers to the number of rooms or seats a supplier has made available for sale. When allotment runs out, the system stops selling that option automatically.
β Extras
Extras are optional add-ons that can be attached to a booking β for example: travel insurance, airport transfers, golf tee times, equipment rental, or activity tours.
π³ Creditor
A Creditor is a supplier that Tourpaq owes money to β for example, airlines or hotel chains. Creditors are set up in the Finance/Users section and are used in payment tracking and reporting.
π€ GDS Queue
GDS stands for Global Distribution System (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre). The GDS Queue in Tourpaq is where ticketing and PNR-related tasks are managed for airline bookings processed via a GDS.
π Errata
Errata (Customer Information Errata) are official notices sent to customers about changes to their booking β such as flight time changes, hotel substitutions, or destination updates.
