Transport Rule Weekdays Support

Define week intervals and valid weekdays for transport rules with two external providers. Control exactly when transports are generated across the season.

Overview

The Weekdays support functionality allows users to define specific weekdays within week intervals when creating a Transport Rule that uses two external providers.

This feature provides more precise control over when transports are generated by allowing users to limit departures to specific days of the week during specific periods of the season.

Purpose

The purpose of week intervals is to control transport generation patterns across a defined date range.

Instead of generating transports for every possible week, the user can define:

  • which weeks of the season are valid

  • which weekdays within those weeks should generate transports

This allows the system to reflect real operational schedules from external transport providers.

Where It Is Used

The functionality is available in Transport → Transport Rules.

It becomes available when two external providers are selected in the Transport Rule configuration.

Week Interval Table

When the feature is enabled, a table is displayed where the user can define one or more week intervals.

The table contains the following columns:

Field
Description

Start Week

The first week number in the interval.

End Week

The last week number included in the interval.

Week Days

The weekdays when transports should be generated within the interval.

+

Adds a new week interval row to the table.

Each row represents a period of weeks and the allowed weekdays for transport generation.

Configuration Rules

The following rules apply when defining week intervals:

  • At least one week interval must be defined.

  • Week intervals cannot overlap.

  • The intervals apply to all years included in the Transport Rule Date From / Date To range.

  • Users can add multiple intervals to support different seasonal schedules.

  • Week intervals can be deleted before transports are generated.

Example

A transport rule may be configured as follows:

Start Week
End Week
Week Days

1

10

Monday, Friday

11

20

Wednesday

21

35

Monday, Friday

In this example:

  • Weeks 1–10 generate transports on Monday and Friday

  • Weeks 11–20 generate transports only on Wednesday

  • Weeks 21–35 return to Monday and Friday departures

Editing Week Intervals After Transport Generation

After the transport rule has generated transports, users can still add additional weekdays or new week intervals.

This allows schedules to be expanded if additional departures are needed later in the season.

However, existing generated transports are not automatically removed. The added intervals will only affect newly generated transports.

Usage Notes

Week intervals are intended for situations where transport schedules change during the season. For example:

  • Early season departures only once per week

  • Peak season departures multiple times per week

  • Reduced departures at the end of the season

Using week intervals ensures that transports are generated only for the intended operational schedule, preventing unnecessary transports from being created.
